Is a Heat pump / AC unit considered more or less effecient in hot states? @DA01 of course, just wanted to replace it with the most efficient set up. Be that a combo system or a single AC and add in an electric heater. |

Do two 5k BTU air conditioners produce the same cooling power as one 10k BTU unit? The advantages of two units would be zoning the house to best balance the temperatures, as well as avoid 100% down time. If one needed repair the other could could possibly still run, and offer some comfort in the down time. |

Why is my A/C unit running when the heater runs? Any input on how efficient a heat pump / ac unit is in the summer? I hear they are better in the winter than electric heat, but since we run our AC pretty much 6 months straight, wonder about the AC effectiveness. |

Why is my A/C unit running when the heater runs? Pretty sure not. But is it possible? It is for sure an AC unit outside as We used it a ton in the summer. We live in the phoenix area, so it pretty much runs non stop 5 months a year in the summer. |
