comment Is a dryer vent tube being compressed like this up to code?
My concern with smashing the pipe (and why I think it could matter) is a seam may have split open and hot, moist air would get ejected into the void, but from the picture, that doesn't appear to have happened. So, I think it could matter.

@JoelKeene I guarantee I lose more gas dispensing into my mower than would ever evaporate.

comment How can I improve my gasoline can spout?
@ThreePhaseEel Positive I assembled it correctly. The leak is at the safety mechanism on my current can, not where the can and spout meet. Odd thing is it doesn't always leak.

I'm also checking into the possibility of using a "water can" that looks suspiciously like a gas can but is a different color of plastic.

I know, I've even gone as far as looking on foreign websites to see if they'll ship them to the U.S., but apparently that isn't allowed by customs.

comment How should I level the ground for my above ground pool?
Digging down the high side to attain level is the direction the manufacturer provided on the poo I purchased. And sand was specifically mentioned against using.

Is the dryer screen clean? Also have you checked inside the dryer BEFORE the vent hose? I've seen both blocked really bad not allowing moisture to be move out of the dryer effectively. When the dryer is running, how much air is move out through the vent and what is the temperature and humidity like in the air coming out?

comment Can I rejunvenate a rubber o-ring?
The issue with that is that the threads don't seal the connection. It holds the connection together and prevents the hose from coming apart from the inlet/outlets on the pool. The O-ring is the only thing making a watertight seal. Still +1 as it may work on other pools. For a visual: amazon.com/Intex-Fittings-Includes-Strainer-Directional/dp/…

I had actually considered this, but I expected the tape to not stay in place when I would slide the hose over the o-ring, so I didn't try this.

Thanks all. I ended up just replacing the o-ring. I couldn't find a single so I had to buy a contractor pack. At least I have spares now. :P

comment What is the best way to fix this garage floor?
There is prep work involved and it won't fix all the issues on it's own. thisoldhouse.com/toh/how-to/intro/0,,20174654,00.html

You found a mill that pressure treats their own wood?

comment Can I warm up a swimming pool by submerging black-painted milk jugs in it?
That really depends on how far from the top of the pool the water level is. :)

comment Solution for A/C Condensate Drain Line that doesn't require emptying a bucket of water every day?
If it's a rental and they aren't allowing you to make modifications and you can't let it drip, can't you contact building maintenance and ask them to address the issue? Personally, if dripping onto passersby isn't an option (which isn't a big deal to me; it's clean water) then I would hook up a flexible tube to the spigot on the AC's pan and let it drain through the hose to the ground. This may require a long tube.

Why can't it be connected to a drain of some sort? And why is it not dripping onto the ground?
