How can I fill a screw hole so it can be used again? Wooden matches work better than toothpicks - they're a consistent size for one. |

How can I eliminate play in a water tap? @romkyns: We might want to get terms defined. The cheapest tap I can buy in Canada is about $25, and you can easily spend $200 on designer kit. Are you talking about tap, the valve (a replaceable part of the tap), a washer, or something else? |

How far apart are studs? Most recent construction has 16", but I've seen 24" apart in some walls, and in one house built in the '30s they were apparently just placed at random. |

Is this an adequate junction box wire job using a standard electric box? (pic included) And I believe in some areas the cables have to be anchored to the box - it looks like they're just pushed through a hole in the back. |

What are some materials that I can use to build a chalkboard? I was lucky enough (quite a few years back) to have removed a number of slate blackboards from a university building that was being renovated. They were at least 100 years old, and were as good as new. So if you want "the best" without regard to cost, slate is the way to go. |
