Can I convert ceiling mounted octagon box to electrical receptacle? I like this approach. I'll try it out. |

Can I convert ceiling mounted octagon box to electrical receptacle? I believe I have a GFCI breaker already on that circuit. And no to the flush mounting. The box has to protrude in my explanation. |

How do I install a sink in a room that doesn't have a drain vent? I don't plan on running a pipe up through the roof from my garage. |

What are the tools that every Do-it-Yourselfer must own? Yes, 12 point sockets are typically for engine building and specialty. Emphasis is on obtaining 6 point sockets. |

How do you remove the stick-on child safety locks from appliances? It turns out I was able to yank them off with some muscle without damaging the surface. They are a foam backing, so while Joe's suggestion did not work, peeling them back did work well without needing to apply any WD-40 or similar. |

Where can I find garage building plans? Free would be nice, but I'm personally willing to reward an architect/supplier for having a good design. |

Can I use a 50 Hz device in a 60 Hz power frequency? Heating elements may not care about 50Hz to 60Hz, but probably will care about dropping from 60Hz to 50Hz. Doing so will make it work harder because the voltage spends more time in the positive and negative peaks and therefore draw provide more current. This effect also overheats anything with windings, like electric motors and transformers. |

Can I use a 50 Hz device in a 60 Hz power frequency? Make sure it's rated for the power of the espresso machine or you'll burn out the converter or the espresso machine. |

Is a gas water heater safe in a bedroom? Sure, I wouldn't mind a large container of scalding hot water surrounded by FIRE in my bedroom closet. |

Can a house with moldy, flooded basement be a likely fixer upper? About every recently built house with a basement in my area (Delaware) has a sump pump as a precaution. The predominant red clay soil may be a factor in this practice. This house is about 8-10 years old. e.g. My current house has one and it does kick on from time to time during storms or hot/humid days when the AC condensation builds up in the sump. |

Can a house with moldy, flooded basement be a likely fixer upper? Note the sump pump was the cause of the flood. The house is not in a flood plane or near any large bodies of water. |

How do I fix gutter nails that are coming out? Great idea! I happen to have a door hinge with some stripped out screw holes I'm going to try this on. |

Good low cost tools for woodwork Also must note that NiCd batteries lose their capacity over the years, especially if exposed to a lot of heat. Fortunately, Ryobi hasn't changed their design. New ones are cheap and still available at Home Depot. |

Good low cost tools for woodwork My Ryobi 14.4V drill has served me well for 7+ years. Some of the other cordless tools are about useless or only for very small jobs: reciprocating saw and circular saw for instance. |

Where can I find central heating system with radiators? I should also mention that you can find radiator cores at specialized recycling yards. Again, This Old House demonstrates this pretty often. You can't buy new the bulky cast iron units that are found from houses built in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Some people prefer them because it keeps their house period correct and some also have artwork cast into the surface that matches the house. |

Why does my toilet intermittently run continually? If you use one of those 1000 Flushes in-tank cleaners, it can eat away at the rubber and cause the flapper to leak. |

What are the tools that every Do-it-Yourselfer must own? After cutting something metal, such as carpet threshold trim, you can use it to deburr and polish up the edges. |
