What projects should never be DIY? Getting the popcorn off is the easy part. All the home improvement shows show that step. It's the "making it smooth" part afterwards that they always skip that's the killer. |

Ceramic glass cooktop testing? Being a "new" house that I've found slightly faulty but repairable appliances (fridge, water heater, A/C), I wasn't sure if the problem was the stove or the user, so I asked here. Judging from the answers and comments, it seems the stove is fine electrically and that we need to be figure out how to use it correctly. |

How best can I discover what is up with my electrical bill? Not yet. I'm moving into a new house and haven't had a chance to order it. |

How do I get the sheen even? I was trying to push the paint into the wall and spreading it to thin. Your suggestions worked beautifully. |

What is a strong glue for bonding metal? How do you know it is glue? Some kinds of welds look like glue if you manage to break them apart. |

Is it worth having two locks in exterior doors? Great answer! I've locked myself out in a house with two locks, so I'll stick with a single dead bolt for each door. It's cheaper as well. |

Can I replace a section of copper pipe with flexiable PVC? In researching SharkBite, I found that my initial idea is not code compliant being inside a wall. SharkBite is allowed in the wall, so I will use that with CPVC instead of flexible PVC. |
