comment What could cause water to come out of the faucet when the shower is on?
Isn't the divertor on the spout? When he turns the airator on the front of the bath spout it diverts the water so all that is needed is a new divertor spout? Rather than "part of the tap"?

comment Did my contractor give me good advice about my septic tank?
As bcworkz said if the system was completely blocked the product would do nothing and if it wasn't the product is unessacsry and extremely overpriced for a oxidizing agent, also it should have been a simple task for the plumber to check the amount of blockage if he dug down to apply the oxidizing agent.

comment Is it possible to use a hot water recirculation pump with a PEX home run system?
On a side point just out of interest as I'm a plumber apart from the individual flow control what is the advantage of this home run manifold over the traditional main run with tees off it? (which would use heaps less materials)

comment Why do some free-standing ice makers need floor drains?
I could be wrong but don't some without drains have a fan over the waste reservoir to evaporate the water?

comment Is this plastic pipe connecting city water to the main line dangerous?
It doesnt look like it it looks more like pe which is even used for underground sewer mains etc judging by the curve in the pipe it isn't ridge like the PVC pressure pipe other wise the fitting would be of a different type as well

comment Alternative equipment(s) to drill a few holes on a 0.5 cm plastic beside using a small drill
if it wasnt into plastic i'd probably agree... but you could also use a injector drill if you have a problem using the above hand drill

comment Using a solar system with a condensing boiler for the central heating instead of tap-water?
as mentioned this is very product specific and a brief Google search for the manual was unsuccessful ( as i can't read German) but if you do go down that path which is possible with most systems you may want to look into a solar bypass value for the boiler so that if the solar gain is sufficient you just bypass the boiler entirely.

comment Can I move the range hood but not the roof vent (angled “flue” pipe)?
Local code will stipulate the maximum horizontal to vertical ratio for the flue to prevent condensation etc cooling in the vent and dripping back down, and for this reason you won't want a totally horizontal section it will need some grade on it

comment Is it normal to find cracks in new concrete?
Are there expansion joints in the slab? Also there's no lagging around the pipe where it penetrates the slab bad form! Did they used steel riobar? Did they use rio chairs to hold the steel at the correct depth in the concrete?

comment How do I fix a faucet that turns all the way around?
It could be a washer type tap and the thread on the spindle is stripped or the spindle length is to short for the breaching piece which can be fixed by placing a washer rubber on the stem side of the new washer to pack it down into the breaching piece and press fully against the seat

the bolts and washer you want are the same as found here (sorry just the first image on a web page i found) sanliv.com/wall-mount-basin-fixing-bolts-set and they will hold the weight of the sink no worries as long as they are into a solid frame not plaster

comment Can air in pipes cause a faucet to catastrophically fail?
On a side note regarding maintenance guy.The washer causing the water hammer is quite common and is caused by the flow of water past the washer head at a certain flow rate the washer will jump up and down, the effects can vary between a squealing tap and really bad water hammer. This can be fixed by replacing the washer if it the just a deformed washer or pining the washer into the spindle by crushing the shaft of the washer then forcing it into the spindle.
