comment How can I seal around this pipe on my roof?
@kurkevan you'd be able to pull a new boot over the bend but if your worried just cut of the bend and glue another one on there cheap, by the by have you checked if the bend is even glued on?

comment How can I seal around this pipe on my roof?
@kurkevan you could buy the right size boot and cut a funnel off it and side it over the existing dektite to get rid of the hollow or you could put a piece of wire under the edge of the current one pull it up and fold back the edge of the boot and silicon or similar the edge to the pipe which will seal it and prevent it from dropping down again

comment Why does my shower head drip when the tub faucet is on?
+1 @bcworkz hence why putting a flow restrictor in the shower hose would help although not really solve the underling cause.

comment Why does my shower head drip when the tub faucet is on?
No sounds like you've got the idea just to much pressure and the divertor spout is sending some water up to the shower, u could try putting a water restrictor on the shower hose to stop this happening if it hasn't got one already.

If your looking at using it again get one that you can replace the lens cover otherwise go for your life except for spending big $$ they are all pretty rubbish

comment How do I replace this cast iron toilet flange?
Not that i would endorse it in any way but if you can't cut the pipe it could just be removed from the next flange and then a PVC pipe be inserted and sealed into the old cast iron pipe... or you could just get a push in flange that will sit in the top of the cast iron flange and save yourself the trouble of mucking around with cast pipe. personally I'd be more worried about that gal pipe you have in the wall.

comment Adjusting a Mixer Tap Hot/Cold Mix
And as for removing the handle it will provide access to the mixer Cartridge which is non serviceable in most new taps and even if it is its not worth the trouble as you can just buy a new cartridge to replace it if you want.

Be very carefull!!! Chimneys may look like they are very secure when you start but can have a nasty habit of falling over when you lean against them.

comment How do I safely install a pole/mast on our roof?
Good plan but don't forget to fully seal the top of the pipe so you don't end up with a water feature in your ceiling

comment Should I install a hot water recirculating pump before or after the thermostatic mixing valve?
How is this going to be a recirculating system? And as for the question about before or after the tempering valve usually most tempering valves specify a maximum pressure difference on the inlets eg hot and cold so after the valve.

comment Can I install a hot water recirculation pump if I have a reverse osmosis filter?
I agree with that if your using reverse osmosis filters I'm guessing u don't want to drink the hot water, extra leaching occurs when the water is heated. But having said that what piping are you running through? If it uses lead solder in the hot line I really wouldn't do it.
