comment Why does my Rinnai Infinity water heater fire up after turning off the cold tap?
a water hammer arrestor may fix the problem but the unit firing over such a small wave seems strange. Ill look up the flow switch assembly in a minute and get back to you

comment Can we install an aeration unit in an older septic system?
in that case I would recommend just keeping the septic and replacing the field- it doesnt have to be overly expensive but there are a number of options that will make the price vary quite substantially. eg get a few quote or diy if you can get away with in your council area

comment Is it possible to make my own solar water heater?
You could braze the copper parts of the panels using fitting eg tees for the risers in the panels if its just a once off affair or you could use a branch former to form 1/2" branchs off the 1"manifold. Most of the collectors I use are just a 1"manifold top and bottom with between 6-12 1/2"risers running vertically between them. Braze on a couple of FI 1"fittings on the ends and hey presto... then you just need to make your casing and insulate it, also a backing on the copper manifold (eg. a copper of alloy sheet (thin) painted black) will increase heat collection.

comment What advantages does bending copper pipes have over joining many parts without brazing?
Hard drawn copper can and is quite regularly bent without annealing (as I do it nearly every day)

I have seen commercially made solar hot water tanks made of poly but don't know the composition to avoid leaching

comment What is causing toilet supply water leaks above the coupling nut?
yes. and you could replace the washer or use teflon tape to seal it or just replace it with a braided flexible connector (easy hooker)

comment Is it safe to install this hot water tank from ebay?
for starters it will be illegal due to the non complaince in au of the unit. but apart from that its 6kw heating elemet so it could pull 26 amps... so dont just put a plug on the end of it and plug it in. just a personal opinion dont do it just spend the money and get a proper unit

comment What size rubber grommet will a 3/4" PVC pipe fit (water tight) through?
You can also buy a threaded coupling that has a backing nut to accomplish the same idea as Steven but glue the PVC into the proper coupling
