comment Changing out programmable Light Switch, wire help needed!
There's a thin, bare wire in the back of your box - is that your ground? (It looks like it has some paint on it, but is otherwise bare / uninsulated). If so, then you're good to go: bare is ground, white is neutral, black is hot (as Ed Beal points out, you have to figure out which black one is load and which is line, but that's easily accomplished with a meter).

comment Is it safe to ground electrical appliance?
I would argue that it's possible an inexpensive lamp might not have very reliable double insulation. When it comes to power tools, etc - I would feel comfortable relying on the double insulation. Adding a ground lead does not hurt. "Belt and suspenders".

comment What happens when a gas meter is too large?
It seems odd that a different size meter would result in a too large reading.

comment Motion sensing light triggered by fan on the same circuit
Great answer! Would this work for a fan controlled by the same sort of switch? I'm having a very similar issue - fan turns off, and switch immediately turns back on. Based on your answer, I've ordered a couple of different caps, do any of these look appropriate? 338-3455-ND 338-3462-ND 338-3459-ND
