What could be causing this electrical issue? Do not torque breakers to 25 ft lbs. I'm looking at a 20 amp breaker and it says to torque to 35 inch lbs. |

was it ever legal to use 3 wire cable to operate two circuits one neutral 120 volts? Well, I discovered you cannot put a gfci breaker on one leg and an afci on the other on a shared neutral circuit, it just won't work. I guess I'll have to either use 2 afci's or a dual gfci. If I use the afci's I will have to use gfci outlets on that side. I read somewhere that new construction starting in 2014 won't be allowe to use the shared neutral wiring. |

was it ever legal to use 3 wire cable to operate two circuits one neutral 120 volts? So as long as each hot leg is from a different leg of the breaker box the netural cannot be oveloaded.I talked to the bldg inspector and he said I could split the neutral on AFCI circuits but had to use the 240v dual breaker on the GFCI circuits. whoever wired my house put kitchen plugs on one leg and the dishwasher and garbage disposal on the other so I am going to use a gfci on the plugs leg and an afci on the dishwasher leg. The bathrooms which are wired on the shared neutral system I have gfci outlets so I will use afci breakers. If the inspector has any problems with that I'll let u know |

was it ever legal to use 3 wire cable to operate two circuits one neutral 120 volts? Thanks, it looks like I will have to postpone installing the entrance panel to give me time to straighten up the wiring. On one 15 amp leg they put hall lights, porch lights, both bathrooms, part of one bedroom and the forced air furnace and I want to split that into 3 circuits so I might as well do it now. Do you know if anyone makes a 240 volt afci breaker or a separate attachment to connect two afci breakers together. |

How to add on to a concrete patio? I agree with the first answer, I would consider what is behind the bricks before you pour. Will you ever need to get in their for repairs? |
