What are the pros and cons of vinyl gutters? In addition, we have a high fiberglass free-standing ladder, that is tall enough to reach our gutters. I use this whenever possible. It is lighter than my extension ladder or the little giant, so easier to move around. |

What are the pros and cons of vinyl gutters? You can buy a standoff bracket that hooks to a ladder. The bracket leans on your house wall, so no load is placed on the gutter at all. A virtue of this is it makes your ladder more stable - a big thing for me, who hates heights. |

How do I prevent water from collecting against side of house? Be VERY CAREFUL when you use any saw on concrete. Inhaling concrete dust can cause lung problems (silicosis) that will kill you. So use a dust mask on anything like this. |

Can I use mulch as a driveway covering? I plow my gravel driveway all winter long. Early in the winter, I try to avoid it, expecting an inch or so of snow will melt anyway. If I do plow, I'll peel up piles of gravel (even with skids on my plow) and deposit it on my lawn. Once the drive has frozen solid, no problem. But with mulch, a plow or a shovel would tear it up much easier. |

What is a strong glue for bonding metal? Note that cyanoacrylates, i.e., superglue, tend to be brittle in my experience. Vibration from a garage door opener, plus starts and stops, will likely break that bond very easily. |
