How can I create low-cost, fire resistant, hidden in-wall storage? Whatever your solution. You do get fire retardant sheet rock. Its designed to be non combustible for upto 45 mins in fire situations. Just something to top of your build to decrease chances of it going up in flames. |

How can I electrically test an RJ45 plug? It would be very unlikely that a connection for routers would have PoE (Power over Ethernet) connected to them that standard is designed for example to run ip cameras that require power as well as data and telemetry. Some of the cheaper meters wont test for that per se they just check for cable continuity between ends. |

Is this gas line not suitable for direct burial? I think as per the Community Bulletin regarding a similar question (meta.diy.stackexchange.com/questions/778/…) This questions user should contact the local municipality to answer their quesion. While we try to offer our experience and knowledge this question has safety implications that i think probably should be answered by the municipal/state as per building code in that area. |

Is this gas line not suitable for direct burial? I have reviewed the latest copy of Florida building codes, There seems to be some caveats that aren't fully explained in the document specifically what the standards that they specify it must conform to actually are. My initial analysis maybe incorrect, You really need to read it for yourself. If your interested in reading about it you need only look up; 2007 Florida Building Code, Fuel Gas SECTION 403 (IFGS) PIPING MATERIALS www2.iccsafe.org/states/Florida2007FinalDraft/fuel_gas/PDFs/… |

Is this gas line not suitable for direct burial? Every states building codes are different. Florida has some weird plumbing style codes. I am assuming the user is in Florida as his profile says so. In which case Florida building code stipulates you may only use polyethylene (PE) normally black or copper. The reason for no allowance on galvanised steel is that the zinc coating reacts with the gas and causes it to flake off! Copper does oxidize however that is technically not rust. Preferably you would always use polyethylene! |

Do z-wave products suffer any limitations in the UK because of radio limits? Im pretty sure normal users can no longer amend Wikipedia articles due to continuous negative alterations. I have read that a few times but I have never tried |

Why are “Wire Nuts” not used in the UK? Something that seems to be frequently missed is that the UK employs ring circuits in most situations when dealing with sockets and outlets rather than radials/spurs. This type of wiring essentially rids itself of wire splicing. Wire splicing is not such a common feature in UK wiring and i have seen cable splicing as a frowned upon as an installation method. If cables do need to be connected together they either use specific joint boxes or they use mostly Connector strips which are essentially blocks of joined screw terminals. |
