Trying to identify this box on the outside of my house +1 - Those do look like liquid connections, and there's no evidence of "source" signal coming into the box to be distributed. This has to be what it is. |

Trying to identify this box on the outside of my house What branches out? Are they wires? Perhaps this was an alarm system? |

Trying to identify this box on the outside of my house They look like weather-proof shrouds for low-volt connections like telco or such. Have you pulled any out to see what the rest looks like? What's on the other side of the wall? Also, where is your house (generally speaking)? |

What are my options for installing 220v receptacles in an attached garage? Definitely don't want everything sharing a single 30A breaker. Sub-panel with appropriate smaller breakers for the 120 circuits (I'd just do 15's, but as you like). |

How can I install a recessed light container in an abnormally thick ceiling? Actually, I'd look into ignoring the clips completely and just screwing them into the ceiling through the sides or bottom of the can. Usually the trim ring comes off and there's some metal skirt, which may even have holes in it already. |

How can I install a recessed light container in an abnormally thick ceiling? So make the strip wider, or glue it, or back it with another piece of plywood on top - lots of ways to make this work. (Also, you only need an 1/8" hole because you don't need to put the toggles through the holes). |

What's the easiest way for me to cut thin metal? Nice job answering the question without straying. |

What type of concrete sealer to use to prevent frost heaves in my driveway? I think frost heave (cracking and tilting of concrete) is from the ground underneath freezing and thawing. You may be thinking of spalling (pieces of the surface pop off)? |

How do I tell if my kitchen range space is set up for gas? People are a little too scared of gas lines. They aren't such a big deal. |

How are wires wired together and where can I find that point? @Biff - Dude, sorry, but you are just flailing here. This circuit needs to get torn out and re-done. |

How can I install a J-Trap for a bathroom sink with limited space? I was agreeing with the 45's, but I think coming out of the wall with a 45 will stick out too far. A 90 lets you route the whole mess back against the wall (by turning the 90 above it to point backwards). It's definitely a recipe for clogs. |
