Door jamb on a 2.5" thick wall Nice idea. This wall doesn't have the space for it but I'll keep it in mind for future consideration. Thanks. |

Door jamb on a 2.5" thick wall I added an edit to the question. I have a door and casing that I'd like to use. In this scenario, would it make sense to put together a custom door frame? |

Door jamb on a 2.5" thick wall I may be having trouble visualizing but in the first option it sounds like you're describing adjusting the size of a door rather than making/installing a jamb for a thin wall. Can you please clarify? |

Looking for alternatives to AutoCad to make floorplans and interior elevations for my kitchen Sketchup is fantastic. Watch a few video tutorials and make plenty of use of your middle mouse button/scrolly. It makes using the tool 3x faster. |

How to make a 6 inch hole through a brick wall for venting Thanks, all. I decided to use a rectangular exhaust vent. About 3x10". Hopefully that will make it easier to make a hole with similar dimensions by removing bricks. |

How to make a 6 inch hole through a brick wall for venting Do you know whether 6" masonry hole saw bits are generally available at local stores? I'm having trouble finding one. Thanks. |

How to make a 6 inch hole through a brick wall for venting It doesn't look like HD and Lowes carry masonry hole saws. I'm in a city so there may be some specialty tool stores but I don't really know what to search for. What kind of tool stores might have larger hole saws (e.g. lumber, plumbing, electrical, etc)? Thanks, Shirlock. |

Why should I not use standard “house” bricks for a patio? Yea, we're happy. One other relevant thing to point out is that our patio is really a patio plus parking pad. In other words, we park our car on the same bricks and they still hold up. |

Why should I not use standard “house” bricks for a patio? Also old bricks were about half the price of new bricks from Home Depot. |
