I hold a Masters in Physics. I am using Computers, since I saw a C64 in a shop in 1985. Currently I work as a C#-Developer. At home I stick to Linux and to Perl or C, but willing to use java or whatever I need to write android apps in the future.

Jan 26	comment	When I turn down the dimmer switch on my lights, do I actually use less electricity? For both answers: It's not true that a simple resistor does not save power. As Power = Voltage² / Resistance, and Voltage is always 230V (or 110V depending on country), the consumed power actually drops.
