Do I have to do anything different to use compression fittings on chrome pipe? Thanks for the help, I am going to try sanding off the chrome at the ends. I'll update with whether it worked or not. |

Do I have to do anything different to use compression fittings on chrome pipe? I just overtightened it or put too much weight on it while tightening - the end of the pipe gave way right next to fitting. I can take a photo but not sure if it will add much to my Q though. |

Can I level floorboards with metal or rubber washers? I think my boards are too gappy this time, but I will definitely use this next time I'm laying tiles or trying to match up boards + a hard surface. Thx! |

Can I level floorboards with metal or rubber washers? Old joists reinforced with ply in both directions. They didn't lay the plumbing deep enough IMO, some of it is touching the underside of the boards. Thanks |

Can I level floorboards with metal or rubber washers? Wow I'd not heard of that stuff, just watched this vid: youtube.com/watch?v=ftDET1SqBL4 I didn't mention that I wanted to keep the wooden floor look (painting the boards afterwards, amended my question) so am assuming I can't use this. |

How can I stop cracking/squeaking sounds while leveling this floor? Thanks, I now realise paper makes a lot of sense as you don't want something thick interfering with the levelling or getting compressed over time. |

Do I have to do anything different to use compression fittings on chrome pipe? It's on the pipe elbows, I'm using chrome finish compression elbows. The radiator joins seem to be ok although potentially they could have the same problem as they are compression too. |

Do I have to do anything different to use compression fittings on chrome pipe? Thanks, I was using standard copper and brass olives as supplied with the compression fittings, I'll check if they have a one-sided chamfer. |
