Can I split a 3 wire circuit into 2 separate 2 wire circuits? No, code does not require the breakers to be tied together (those circuits should trip independently), and you can have two circuits anywhere you want. You only need to tie the breakers together if it's a 240V receptacle (or circuit). As far as the neutral goes, as long as the two circuits are on different phases, you're fine, otherwise you create what's called a 'multifeed'. |

What is causing the SUPER loud noise from my dryer As for the motor, not easily, you'd have to disconnect the pulley and then energize it to hear it spin, and it may be making that noise only under load. It's probably better to eliminate all but the motor first. |

What is causing the SUPER loud noise from my dryer A little lubrication might just fix them (the bearings), if that's the case (WD-40) |

What is code for installing a dishwasher I've answered, but it would be rather helpful if you could include some more information such as your location, and the results of any investigating you've done to try and locate a feed for it. |

What is code for installing a dishwasher Does the dishwasher have a cord and plug, or just a place to land a wire and connect it? |

Can I hang a 60 lbs TV on 1 inch drywall? Don't forget tremors and earthquakes. A mild shaking could cause damage that would not have happened had the mount been secured to studs. |

How can I install 3 way switches that cut power to several 2 way switches? I agree with @Tester101 - occupancy sensors might be a better bet here. Much less work and much less potential confusion. However yes, there's nothing that says you can't interrupt an entire lighting circuit with a three way switch. |

How do I find and dispose of the dead body in my ceiling? @NiallC. Fortunately it finally faded away, but that's definitely going to come in handy for someone else. I didn't realize it was such a common problem. |
