comment Do I need to redo this deck or it would be OK to clean it and repaint it?
what do you mean by "redo?" Do you mean completely demolish the deck and replace it or something less than that?

comment How do we thaw pipes that froze after our boiler stopped working?
Patience is wise because if you thought a frozen pipe was bad, you're really not going to like a burst one.

comment Crawl space drainage
I don't think there's any way to make water flow upward without a pump. If the soil drains poorly on the other side of the sewer line then some of the water might rise enough to make it into the trench, but not all of it. And if it drains well then probably none of it will make it.

comment Ice Maker Not Filling Fully or Dumping Ice - Supply Issue?
Well, I still don't think pressure is the issue. I think you have a defective ice maker. Since the refrigerator is new I would consult the people you bought it from and raise a warranty issue.

If it's filling a glass as fast as your faucet does, I'd say that proves the supply line is fine. An ice maker doesn't require a huge amount of water pressure. Mine works just fine off a well that provides 30-50 psi, which is lower than most municipal water systems.

Sounds to me like the ice maker is defective and probably was from day 1.

comment Is this plastic pipe connecting city water to the main line dangerous?
I'd be a lot more worried about my ungrounded electrical system than the plumbing.

comment Do I need to leave the light switch turned on all the time for a motion sensor to work?
Tester is right about the switch being used to toggle the mode of the light, at least with every one I've ever seen. The usual procedure is as follows: To keep the light on regardless of motion, turn the switch off then back on quickly; to let the sensor decide when the light should be on, you turn it off for at least 10 seconds then back on. Check the manual to make sure this is right for your sensor.

comment Cost effectiveness of replacing brass door knobs and hinges
Do you mean the hardware is actual brass or just has a fake brass plating on it? If it's actual brass then by all means keep it. It's valuable and expensive. If it's just fake brass plating then yeah, replacing it with something more modern looking might be worth it.

comment repair drywall in the shower
Either replace the drywall bordering the shower with moisture resistant drywall, or put a tile border around the shower.

comment How high can I adjust water pressure?
Great answer, thanks! As for pump wear, wouldn't using a wider pressure range like 40/70 give me both higher pressure and less cycling of the pump?

comment why did our fridge stop working?
I don't think any site on stackexchange will welcome this question. I would google the specific make/model and I'm sure you'll find sites that address this problem, perhaps even the manufacturer's support site, which would be your best bet.
