If professionals mount my TV, is it their job to hide the wires? @BMitch - I'm just wondering about convention here. As I said to NiallC., there was no contract. |

If professionals mount my TV, is it their job to hide the wires? @Niall. - No contract, no work order, no paper work -- besides the receipt for the TV & mount. The installation was separate and cash. Clearly this was a bad move on my part. |

How can I audit my furnace? This is a great answer, but somewhat useless considering Microsoft Hohm is discontinued. Consider editing it, perhaps. |

How can I increase the heating efficiency of a forced air system? Hey @Tester101 - In light of the answers given, would it be appropriate to change the question/question title to be more general ie. "forced air system" > "home heating system"? |

How to tell if your locks are bump proof? Hey, it looks like @Rook's answer most directly answers the question you've asked. Consider accepting it? |

How do I get leftover tape stickiness off of plastic surfaces? Goo Gone! is great. Though be careful: it took the paint off my red metal filing cabinet. Do test first. |

What is your top tip for painting? Any chance you can elaborate upon this? What is a "wet edge?" |

How best can I discover what is up with my electrical bill? Microsoft's Hohm and Google's PowerMeter are now discontinued. Any alternatives here? Do these devices work with any other services? |

What is the best way to dissolve tape that won't peel off? This stuff is great, but test it on a surface before you apply it as it can (and will) damage the paint on your furniture. |

Can I use a standard extension cord with my refrigerator? Much thanks for the wisdom here. But a problem: it looks like I've got to go with a long cord (~36 feet) in order to wrap the cord around a room. Any options besides installing a new outlet or moving the fridge? |

Can I use a standard extension cord with my refrigerator? @JayBazuzi - That's the problem. This cord needs to be long (36 feet) because I am trying to wire it around the molding of a room. And yes, this is permanent. What to do! |

My neighbor keeps complaining about my music. How to soundproof my apartment? Wow. This is deeply informative and, unfortunately, a little discouraging. It looks like I'll have to alter my lifestyle a little bit -- I already have -- but you can be sure I'll get a towel under the sub and brainstorm about what I can get up on my wall (14 feet wide, yikes) that dampens the sound but doesn't make my home look like a recording studio or opium den. A tall task. |

What are the tools that every Do-it-Yourselfer must own? I'm giving this a downvote. I don't think every DIYer needs one of these. I have no idea what one of these even does. |
