comment Can I piggyback a thermostat with a C Wire hookup on a furnace?
This is exactly what we found. The C-Wire would only turn on with the furnace was running. We bought a 24vac transformer and hooked up that to the c-wire slot and an r-wire slot and it worked great!

comment What thickness of closed cell spray foam should I use on my basement walls?
We ended up going to 2". The rationale is that the permeability of the foam is so little that there is no air/moisture getting through so you don't need as high of an R-Value.
