Why does it take a second for water to come out of the kitchen faucet? Is the sprayer separate, or is it the style where the faucet head pulls out on a hose? |

What material can I use for this custom corner desk? @Mike Welcome! Another tip: it's best if you edit that information about your requirements and research into your original post (as if you wrote it from the beginning), so that people don't have to read through this discussion to get the relevant information. Comments should be considered disposable. |

How can I unbend a bent furnace filter slot? @David That picture is awfully blurry, and it's hard to see any detail of the slot. I recommend you try again and make sure your camera's autofocus locks in properly. (Also reduce the resolution before uploading, if you can.) |

What could be causing thumping in the wall when the bathroom shower, toilet, or sink are used? Hm...any chance of a recording of the sound? |

What should I do with a shallow closet? @Steven I think this qualifies as an answer given the end of the question: “Or other ideas on how to refurb the closet?” |

Can I use old bowling alley lanes as counter tops? Here's someone else who did the same kind of thing: Reclaimed Bowling Lane Table. They already had a cut piece, so it doesn't address your question, but it might be useful for the next steps (including finishing). Note in particular the addition of metal crossbars, as the bowling lane is not designed to remain rigid by itself. |

How to fix stuck pocket doors? If you do get pictures, make sure they're well-lit and well-focused, so that you don't have to re-acquire a camera and do them over again, as these sorts of details will be hard to capture to start with. Aim a lamp into the track to add some general lighting, for example, and check the pictures for blur at full-scale on a computer afterward. |

How do I tell if a light switch is live? Isn't an important step to test your voltage tester on a known live circuit first? |

How do I deal with a leaking toilet cistern inlet pipe? Could you get a camera into the space behind the bowl so as to take a picture of the leaking joint? Also, here's a similar question. |

Induction power source across 1/2" of wood? If you don't get a good answer here, this might also be a good question for Electrical Engineering. |
