How can I efficiently heat a pool? How efficient is this really? I don't know much about thermal dynamics, but this thing is a heat pump that uses the pool water instead of refrigerants. Seems like it would waste a lot of energy moving water around, with less than optimal efficiency. Might be more efficient if it just placed a heat exchanger in the pool, and cycled refrigerants through the system as normal. |

Why is my AFCI breaker tripping and my surge protector clicking? Have you tried using a different surge protector? is it an UPS or just a simple surge strip? If it's an uninterrupted power supply, something could be drawing too much power causing the UPS to switch to battery. When it switches (not sure exactly how it works), it could be creating enough of an arc to trip the AFCI. |

Why is my AFCI breaker tripping and my surge protector clicking? How many fixtures (receptacles, lights) are on the circuit? Are unusual items plugged in / running when it trips (vacuum cleaner, circular saw, one particular lamp)? |

Are push in connectors up to code? @Feriheit - From what I've read they are only good for same wire type connections, but can be used with different metals e.g. copper -> copper, aluminium -> aluminium. Not sure if they make different connectors for aluminium and copper, or if the same connectors can be used with either. |

How much paint do I need to apply to a new Shurline roller at the beginning of a paint job? +1 for Purdy! not sure what they do different than other companies, but their products are far superior. |

Are push in connectors up to code? The connectors I'm looking at are intended to replace traditional wire nuts, and are not to be used outside of a junction box. |

What should I use to seal this window? @longneck - Yes. in that case you will want to finish the outside with glazing compound, smoothing it at a 45 degree angle with a putty knife. You want to make sure water will not sit on the lip of the frame, so make sure the glazing compound bonds well to the glass and is angled to allow water to drain away. |

How far from the sink can we install the dishwasher without major remodel? Most dishwashers are installed near a sink for convenience, not because they have to be. surely you could run independent plumbing for a dishwasher. |
