comment Is there a way to drill a 1“-diameter hole through 1/8”-thick steel using a standard cordless power drill?
Yes, I use my Ryobi cordless for it, though I do use the lower gearbox speed. I've drilled up to 1/4" plate, (though you have to drill from both sides for something that thick, since each "step" on the bit is only about 3/16" thick."

comment Can I use a UPS as a Voltage Stabilizer?
You COULD use a UPS for this purpose, but the one you have is too small. Your fridge will have a tag that says how many amps it draws. You'd have to find that tag and provide a UPS big enough to meet that demand.

comment What type of enclosure should I use to mount a small network switch in a crawl space?
By "box" do you mean "enclosure"? If so do you want it sealed or ventilated? Bug-proof I presume?

comment Is it normal for tap water to turn brown/blue when the pipes freeze?
It's almost certainly rust, and as such is harmless. So I wouldn't panic. But it is a legitimate safety concern, and your landlord does need to address it.

comment How should I mount a TV to a wall that slants inwards 8 degrees?
Good point. Stick with the pine (or better) plywood.

comment What should I do about baseboard anchors in plaster-over-brick walls?
Are you using "modern" or "old-style" baseboard? Modern is intended to lay on top of a finished surface, and in this case you'd carry the plaster all the way to the floor. If doing old-style (2-piece) baseboard, you might go ahead and install the lower baseboard, finish up to it, and then install the cap.

comment Can I mount an 80" TV where only one stud is available?
How much does the TV weigh? Is the stud near its center of gravity, or way off toward either side?
