comment What equipment could I use for digging out a basement after the house is built?
This requires underpinning. Major work.

comment Will new bottom plates in basement allow radon penetration?
I've sealed on the cracks in the slab and the sump pump, and then installed my own radon system a year ago. My fear is that these holes will nullify it. maybe if I drill the holes, then put sealant in them, then screw...

comment Is sealing via tape necessary for knee wall foam board insulation.?
I'm not too concerned about moisture. I have a vapor barrier on the backside of the drywall. I am more concerned with making sure I get the best insulating performance out of the batts and the foam board.

I have never seen roof leak that did not travel quite a distance from where the leak was found. Good luck!

comment Do I need soffit vents and can I add them without taking the roof apart?
I wanted to update my answer with a brilliant solution I came up with on my own. The AEP inspector for my rebate was impressed.with how I vented the knee wall to the main attic in above the second floor. I turned the space above my stairs into a plenum that would carry the air in the knee wall area to the upper attic. I then insulated it with batts and foam board. You can hear and feel the air whipping up that shaft now.

I have the opposite opinion. My aunt has these and they are useless IMHO.

comment Air handler condensation draining problem
I like to give my business to local hardware stores, but the one near my home does not carry premade PVC traps. So, I made one myself out of pipe and angle joints. SOLVED. I love this place; it rocks. Thanks guys. You solved my problem.

It empties into the floor drain but it is not sealed. I got ahold of the install guide and it does call for a j-trap. It even showed the dimensions and needed. I will give it a shot. Now I have to call someone to fix why the 2nd est of electric coils only kick on on emergency heat, not auxillary. I wish people would just install stuff correctly the first time. It's amazing to me that the some so-called professionals are anything but.

I think this is the case. I will try to correct. How could this be installed incorrectly. Could the handler be more powerful than the return vents are originally designed for?

I don't have a P-trap. Could that T joint be an issue? The pipe is sloped every inch of the way to the basement floor drain. I have also tried to remove the entire pipe drain and just let that first 90 degree piece empty out onto the floor. Same results. Could it be that I NEED a P-trap?

Can anyone explain to me what those two other holes are for? The one on the left has the PVC facing up and the top one has a back plug. I've ran the system with no filter for two days and I still had the same issue with the water. Could the system bo so starved that it needs more return vents added? the system is not original to the house, although it was installed before I purchased the home.
