comment How high can a 'sub floor' be raised withh plywood sheets?
It's not that expensive. And you can just add cement board on top of it using cement board screws. I have done it many times and the floor has lasted a long time.

comment What type of caulk should I use for bathroom tile?
Just use caulk that is suitable for tile/bath/showers so it does not grow mold. That kind of caulk usually comes in silicone and is paintable. If you can already find the color closest to your grout and it is suitable for wet environments so it won't grow mold, then even better.

comment When ordering lumber what percentage of waste should be expected?
Try 84 lumber. They were reputable when I did my remodel and the boards I got from them were top notch.

comment What's the standard height for an outlet?
@SpeedyPetey: I agree with everything you said, but I did a home project about 5 years ago and the code stated there needed to be an outlet every 6 feet. I built a 170 sq ft room and there were about 6 outlets in that room. Two were under the windows. This was required by the architect, engineer, and the city code enforcement. I am in Florida. There was not twelve feet between outlets. Also, the electrician who did the work said convention states to stand a hammer on end and that's the height they are placed. He was also old, so maybe that's why he used the hammer.
