I have used this in the past. It works to fill holes previously drilled: acehardware.com/product/…

comment When ordering lumber what percentage of waste should be expected?
Try 84 lumber. They were reputable when I did my remodel and the boards I got from them were top notch.

comment What's the standard height for an outlet?
@SpeedyPetey: I agree with everything you said, but I did a home project about 5 years ago and the code stated there needed to be an outlet every 6 feet. I built a 170 sq ft room and there were about 6 outlets in that room. Two were under the windows. This was required by the architect, engineer, and the city code enforcement. I am in Florida. There was not twelve feet between outlets. Also, the electrician who did the work said convention states to stand a hammer on end and that's the height they are placed. He was also old, so maybe that's why he used the hammer.

comment How do I fix my clogged bathtub drain?
Take the drain plug out and use a Turbo Snake (amazon.com/Turbo-Snake-Original-Pieces-Included/dp/B002JA5R7U). I used this in the past to clean out a punch of hair from a drain in a shower.

comment When to turn on the water for my washing machine?
My Brother-in-law lived in an apartment which could use a portable washing machine that hooked up to the sink. It had one of these shutoff valves. You would turn the sink on when you want to run the washer.

comment When drywalling a room, should I do the ceiling before the walls?
Fire resistant drywall would help too, though it's rather heavy
