What to take as a base of a chair analog of dentist chair? I'm sitting in a Herman Miller Equa 2 right now. It's loaded with features including variable tilt resistance, seat height adjustment, armrest height, width, and vertical axis rotation adjustments, and lumbar support adjustment. It's great - the only downside is the $1,167 price tag. |

How much load can a (wood) board support, if it is supported only at the ends? Dave, that's a very good point if you're going to anchor straight into the tree with a lag bolt. However, by using a board between trees, the board bears the compressive force, and the bolts holding the board to the tree are still in shear. Minimizing the angle of the "Y" will still reduce the compressive force on the board, but it's not as critical this way. |

Is the ability to save pictures worth it in an inspection camera? ...but, but, how will you take pictures of problems and post them to DIY.SE without that function!? (In all seriousness though, I'd just take a picture of the screen with my phone.) |

How can I shorten barstools temporarily so I can reattach the bottom of the legs? @bib is right - you won't be able to screw the two leg pieces together with lag screws if you don't make straight cuts. |

What type of fastener should I use for a hollow wood door? I ended up using these. Thanks for getting me on the right track of looking specifically for hollow door anchors. |

Would this be an effective method to remove painted popcorn ceiling? Ceiling drywall is usually installed prior to the wall drywall. When I had to replace several sheets on my ceiling, it was pretty difficult to get a whole sheet lined up and seated above the wall drywall. Even though I was using a drywall lift, it would have been much easier if I had someone helping me. |

Would this be an effective method to remove painted popcorn ceiling? You'll have to mud and sand the joints afterwards anyway. The reason the ceiling was 'popcorned' was to save on labor costs of making it perfectly smooth. |

How to stop a circular saw from locking? The whole destroying the blade thing was the reason I decided against a Saw Stop. My wife changed her insistence on buying a Saw Stop when I pointed out that cutting slightly wet wood could cost $150 for the replacement cartridge and blade. I promised to be careful and use the blade guards whenever possible. |

When to stop putting out mouse traps? At least it sounds like your traps are in an accessible area. I had mice in my attic for the longest time. I'd set the traps out for a few days and catch 2-3 mice. Fast forward a couple weeks later, and there would be scurrying sounds coming from the attic again. Eventually I ended up forgetting I had put the traps in the attic. Three weeks later, I found the maggot-filled corpse of a very unlucky mouse in a trap I had forgotten to check. |

Is there a wall outlet power meter that I can interface with from a computer? Here's its patent. We've come full circle on Google searches for Equal Networks power strip, I'm afraid. This question is currently the third hit. |

How can I fix a loose door frame? Could you take a picture and indicate where the frame is loose? For your second question: Do you mean that you can't engage the door latch and the deadbolt at the same time? If that's the case, the strike plates are most likely misaligned. Depending on the severity, you can remove and re-install one of the strike plates if they're severely misaligned. Or you could file down the inside opening of one of the strike plates if they're slightly misaligned. |

How do I choose a circular saw? +1 for Ridgid. I've had their circular saw for over a year now. I haven't had any problems with it, and I cover some of the pros in this question. I liked it so much that I bought a Ridgid table saw as well. |
