Over the last 25 years or so I've owned four houses which were in various states of disrepair and (with my wife) have renovated them all. As well as general painting and decorating I've fitted underfloor heating, renovated sash windows, fitted a wet zone shower, fitted two kitchens and three bathrooms as well as building cupboards, laying patios, insulating and boarding a loft and other jobs too numerous to mention.

comment How do I prepare an already painted wall for new paint?
@jiggunjer - one that you can sand - because unless your a pro, you're not going to get a flush surface. One that's flexible, one that will take the paint you want to use. Basically check the label.

comment Why are all of my appliances becoming energized when ground wire is excluded?
If this is the same problem as in this question - diy.stackexchange.com/questions/57798/… - you could add these details to that question instead of starting a new one.
