How do I run cable through my ceiling? Ordinarily this is what I would do. It's not an option in this case, as the bottom half of the wall is cement block with standoffs. |

How can I fix electrical outlets that don't “hold” plugs that are plugged in to them? Good point about the contoured face. I still recall trying to plug in an alarm clock in the dark as a kid and trying to use my finger to guide it in... ouch. |

How can I fix electrical outlets that don't “hold” plugs that are plugged in to them? @JeffG: Thank you for the concern. For the moment, we simply refrain from using the outlets. :) |

Why has my garbage disposal started tripping the breaker every time? Really? I was not aware of that. Must be a new thing, because there's an outlet under my sink! It would be a trivial matter to hardwire it inside the box where the outlet used to be. I'll be sure to do that when I do the rest of the maintenance that needs done under the kitchen sink. |

How can I fix electrical outlets that don't “hold” plugs that are plugged in to them? Thank you for the tip. I'll be replacing most of them in the house! |

How can I fix electrical outlets that don't “hold” plugs that are plugged in to them? OMG you can split an outlet between to seperate breakers?! This has very clearly NOT happened in my kitchen. It might be worth calling in an electrician to pull cable for me to get that done... |

How can I fix electrical outlets that don't “hold” plugs that are plugged in to them? With my wiring, yes. New code in my state (Ohio) dictates that the ground lead must be facing UP so that if something shorts, it won't short between hot and nuetral, but between hot and ground. Not sure how much that alleviates the risk. Either way, it's not a HUGE deal because it's so bad that they literally fall all the way out, but it needs fixed soon nonetheless. |

How can I fix electrical outlets that don't “hold” plugs that are plugged in to them? Built in 79... I don't think that qualifies it as "old", though I can tell you that whoever the previous group over owners were have done nothing to it. It had the original windows, furnace, paint (in some areas) and carpet. |
