Why can't I lay tiles on an uneven floor? If it is a wooden floor, the answers in diy.stackexchange.com/questions/449/fixing-bouncy-floors may be useful to read also. |

Are SharkBite plumbing connectors as reliable as soldered connectors? Using a propane torch is more fun though. |

How do I get utility lines marked on my property? With the wider scope of the question this should probably become community wiki, there won't be one right answer now. |

What is the purpose of a sump pump? I'd say having a backup on the pump is very important as storms are the typical time the ground water level will be rising and one of the more likely times to lose power. Seems almost silly to have a sump pump that runs purely on your electrical service. |

Would putting a sprinkler on my roof help cool my home? agreed, my brain injected that it was a roof mounted unit he was trying to cool, not reduce the house temperature, while reading his question (see comment under my answer). |

Would putting a sprinkler on my roof help cool my home? Good idea, instead of reflecting the energy away, use it! |

Would putting a sprinkler on my roof help cool my home? @Mike Powell, you are right, I guess it doesn't say that, I guess my mind just made the leap that he wanted to basically water cool the unit. I thought having the unit up there was unusual unless we were talking about a commercial or multi-tennat building, but different areas do things differently too. If the unit isn't up there, then I say no way to the sprinkler doing anything and support @Vebjorn regarding roof color, also check on insulation, keep the hot air out and the cool air in. |
