How do I finish off a silicone sealant like a professional? I've had success with taping. After I removed the tape, I made one more pass with my finger to lay the ridges down. The line stays fairly crisp because the excess was removed with the first pass. |

How can I safely remove an outlet from service? @JeremyW.Sherman Yep, I just replaced the nasty almond colored outlets in my son's room with white and went with the TR receptacles in place of the plastic plugs. Good advice! |

How do I use an extension ladder to get onto my roof? I've often wondered the same thing. My old house had an inside corner that would let me climb the ladder and then step sideways onto the roof. My new house doesn't have such a convenient way on the roof. |

Is blown-in insulation appropriate for on the foundation block in a crawlspace? Crawlspace is not conditioned. There is an access door from the outside and several vents. The floor is plywood. Some of the block is below grade which is why I'm concerned. |
