How do I seal my baseboards from drafts? Incidentally, is there any advantage to caulk over minimally expanding foam? |

How do I seal my baseboards from drafts? That's what I was afraid of. There will be an awful lot of furniture moving... |

How do I seal my baseboards from drafts? Won't the air still penetrate thru the carpeting? |

How do I seal my baseboards from drafts? @James - There's nothing much to see; just a molding abutting the carpet, with barely any space between. @Shirlock - no access underneath, it's on a slab. |

Washer / spacer for round surface It's actually for installing an aftermarket harness to the frame of a seat in my car. The mounting hardware needs to be strong enough to withstand the forces that would be generated in a high-speed impact. Would a bending (or bent) washer fit the bill? Probably, but who wants to take chances...? |

Does lowering the blower speed of a forced-air furnace lower its efficiency? How exactly could I test this? (Without enclosing my house in a climate-controlled bubble...) |

Does lowering the blower speed of a forced-air furnace lower its efficiency? Well, it does make sense that lowering the blower speed would reduce its electrical consumption. My question was whether the efficiency of heat transfer thru the exchanger would be somewhat compromised due to the reduced airflow. I.e., maybe more heat is now escaping through the exhaust. |

Does lowering the blower speed of a forced-air furnace lower its efficiency? It wasn't the noise that was bothering me, it was the desert-like sensation of swirling dry air. |
