Can I use a 6 foot long table as the base for a stand up desk? Just an update. I finally decided to move to V.2 of my standup desk use. The filing cabinets were great for storage but they were just a little too high for me. I had bought a workbench from Sam's for the pantry that I love. I bought a second and now use it for my desk. doc-walker.com/Other/SmugShots/i-WzB36BZ/0/M/… It is a bit lower and not as long. It also fits our living room colors better. I am thinking of getting monitor arms to help get them up a little higher. |

Can I use a 6 foot long table as the base for a stand up desk? Theron, Where are you located? I might be able to point you to a cheap source for the door and cabinets if you wanted to go that route. |

Can I use a 6 foot long table as the base for a stand up desk? That is a HAG Capisco chair. haginc.com/products/hag-capisco I got it here: ergodepot.com/HAG_Capisco_p/8106.htm Love it. You can sit on it or use it for half standing, half sit. |

Can I use a 6 foot long table as the base for a stand up desk? The 3 drawer cabinets were recycled. Check out a used office furniture supply store. With all of the businesses closing, and no longer using as much paper, there are a lot of these laying around our area for cheap. The door was also recycled. You can find them at salvage places, closing business sales, etc. |

Is it common to have no ceiling joists above joist-parallel walls? As Auujay said. You want to replace the support that you are removing. Even if it is not a load bearing wall, removing things can cause shifting and settling over time. I have found that it can be a good idea to replace the strength and support that you remove. |

How do I refill a fire extinguisher or should I just buy a new one? Actually these units are refillable. I have done it. I just do not recommend it as it can and will probably leak. I worked 5 years as a extinguisher repair tech. Here is the recharge adapter for that unit brooksequipment.com/Service_Equipment/Recharge_Adapters/… My comment was also addressing the fire departments not filling them. There are a couple reasons they don't do it any more. liability, cost, and certification |

How do I refill a fire extinguisher or should I just buy a new one? Most local fire departments no longer fill extinguishers. There are some. I would recommend not even attempting to fill this one. Buy one with a metal head. |
