comment Is it possible to replace a switch with a receptacle?
Is it dangerous to use it this way? It's a 100W incandescent light bulb and a 5-ish W appliance, so it seems to work as described by DoxyLover: there is not enough current in the lamp to actually light it, but the appliance works fine.

Right, I was expecting that there might be some sort of more complicated wiring that would allow this kind of "conversion" to happen, but it's just the simplest and cheapest solution that has been implemented.

Even if sparks only happen when plugging/unplugging the jack, is this reason enough to justify an intervention? I'm afraid they'll try and downplay it, some extra arguments/tests might help convincing them.

I know that the routers have been replaced last month, but no mention of power over Ethernet capabilities have been advertised. Would these meters allow me to test if their routers support this new standard?
