comment What could be preventing my garage door from shutting?
Flood damage killed ours once.We also need to adjust them about every year, something will knock them or spider web get too thick over them.

comment Are there alternatives to a traditional dimmer switch?
I've had a few dimmers that hummed, then I replaced them! I'm in the US using 110v but I was always taught a humming dimmer switch was not a good thing.

comment Why did my refrigerator/freezer stop cooling?
My mini-fridge (4.2 cu ft) has a condensation issue and the coils freeze over, once I waited until it provided no cooling. It took 2 days to defrost enough to remove the rear panel and ~6hr with a space heater in it. After that I still had to clean out all the water so it wouldn't happen right after. Basically, defrosting for 1 day may not sufficient for a frozen solid larger unit. If you can manage it, I'd try defrosting for a few day before getting a service technician. If you have one, keep a fan running inside of it doors open.

comment Why does cold water comes out faster when the hot water is turned off?
Can you define what you mean by "faster"? Is the overall water flow higher/faster than when more are turned on or does it remains the same essentially doubling the cold when the hot is turned off? Are you on city or well water? House, apartment, bungalow? How many stories and where are you experiencing this?

@TomAnderson When the question says pipe certain disclaimers should be listed. Bike or water pipe you can do as you please but hopefully this question and answers will be helpful to others in the future so generic questions warrant generic disclaimers.

But the bolt is perpendicular to the pipe. The screw to tighten on the ground wire is perpendicular centered, the other bolts are perpendicular tangents.

If there is a cleaner looking solution than mine, I could see using it to make your own cabinet handles/pulls. I'm trying to make a 4' handle but want a few supports in that length.
