comment How do I make my house allergy proof?
There are air quality tests, similar to mold testing, that tests for a few highly known airborne allergens that tend to linger. The problem is people can be allergic to nearly anything; for instance cats, every single cat produces its own specific dander. Most people allergic to cats will build a tolerance in 6-12 months but introduce another cat or swap cats and they're still allergic to the new one.

comment How do you drain a garbage disposal?
What about a clean-out T? I know they make one similar to a clean out in smaller sizes. @DMoore is right though, you need a down slope. Mine is using a straight pipe from the disposal to the T like yours; I have it probably about 3/4" lower, as far as I could manage to "bend" it and I have no issues. I was tight on space and have the drain in between the two sinks so I have less of a run so I could get away with less of a down slope. My rule of thumb was you have to have a visible down slope which guessing would be about 2" bare minimum on yours but 6" wouldn't hurt.

comment Confused on what AC Unit to purchase and install?
13 SEER is the lowest allowed in the US (exception to window units) but is the most common. Energy Star will only certify >= 14 and in 2015, you can't install lower than a 14 SEER in FL and most South Eastern states (acca.org/archives/industry-resources/government-affairs/hot-air/…)

My brother lives in Florida and pays ~$60 a month for electricity, I live ~100 mi away still in FL and pay ~$240 a month for electricity. I have a slightly larger house and use gas as well but we average the same number of KWH but I have way higher utility rates. $90 in Florida is relative to a lot of other factors, if you could state what size unit he had and how much we was paying before then their monthly bill might become useful.

Is your floor uneven or your skirt/trim too high? Are you trying to fix it or cover it up?

comment How can I remove oil stains from a concrete floor?
Polyurethane Epoxy will stick to virtually anything, but the larger the spot (like an entire garage) the more important it is to have a nice even adhesion other with it can bubble, crack, and/or lift off. With a full garage application you typically clean if with degreaser, cleaning solution (basically soap), and then water a few times. There are plenty of "horror stories" of people trying to skip steps. For just the degreaser, I'm a big fan of Simple Green. I can find a jug of it at any big box hardware store in the US, I use the spray bottle around the house from kitchen to dog messes.

Total suggestion, but a degreaser? Simple Green, carb cleaner, etc. Paint will probably stick but is still porous so it will slowly seep through. If you're "storing" more than taking out every day, a cheap tarp may suffice until you refinish it with an epoxy.

Yes, just like your individual breakers works in comparison to your main/service breaker.

Get and follow the manufacturers specs. 25 Amp breaker may stop a small over heat were 30 Amp will hurt your motor/unit before the breaker pops. The disconnect fuses should be enough. *Did not check NEC for 10/2 ratings

I saw them probably about 2-3 years ago at Northern Tool locally. Searching now, the best I found is grip tape, a bit more sand paper like meant for skate boards.
