As far as I can tell, there are 2 main dry erase paints on the market - IdeaPaint and Rust-Oleum Dry Erase Paint. They have the same purpose but differ greatly in price (IdeaPaint being almost 10 times more expensive).

Of course IdeaPaint say that their product is vastly superior but has anyone actually tried them both and compared them? I've seen mixed reviews even for IdeaPaint and would not like to waste money if the paint doesn't work well on my wall.

I think the questions are different, even though they are about the same product. The other question is whether IdeaPaint is good, whereas this one is asking for a comparison to a much cheaper product. (Nobody brought up the cheaper product as an alternative to IdeaPaint when the other question was asked 7 months ago.) – Vebjorn Ljosa Nov 3 '11 at 12:51
Exactly, I'm trying to compare alternatives. – Borek Nov 3 '11 at 16:21

heads up, be sure you at least have smooth walls. If your walls are textured, neither solution is likely a good idea. I made a very small wall a chalkboad with paint in our house, but removing the texture was a NIGHTMARE. Never again. ;) – DA01 Oct 15 '12 at 21:34
