I am building a false ceiling in plasterboard. I bought some boards for isolation. Where should this be installed? Should I put it next to the roof leaving a air chamber between the plasterboard and the isolation boards or should it go next to the plasterboard leaving the air chamber between the isolation boards and the roof?

The roof surface should always have a ventilated air gap immediately beneath it, so that its underside can stay as dry as possible or get dried out as necessary. –  TDHofstetter Aug 16 '14 at 14:58
