My new home has a bbq island built on a roof deck, above inside kitchen and bedrooms. Prior water damage in downstairs kitchen leads me look under bbq and I see non waterproofed roof and stucco. I also see a space between viking grill and counter. What is the best way to waterproof the area around this cabinet and under it without tearing the whoke thing out and starting over? What would you do?

There isn't a good way to waterproof under something without removing it so that you can waterproof under it. Water flows downhill. –  ben rudgers Jul 21 '14 at 17:58
