We checked the moisture in our closets because our clothes always smelled musty if they hadn't been worn for a while. The moisture was within limits bit near the high mark with the actual reading being 56 or 61. However, when you go into our crawl space its dry but smells musty. The crawl space is insulated between the joists and has a vapor guard just thrown onto the dirt floor. It doesn't look like it was encapsulated. We were questioning as to whether we should go through the expense of encapsulating the crawl space or check out the three vents we have. Our home is 1200 square feet.
