The coal bed beneath my imitation gas fire has cracked. (It is vermiculite type of material) The part is obsolete, so can it be repaired or can I get hold of a block that I could shape or sculpt to fit my fire?

It is from a Baxi Bermuda fire TS/BS GC No 37 077 31/41 and the insert has a number 233576 moulded into the coal bed.
