I've just bought washing machine Electrolux EWM 1044 EDU. So, when I installed it, I ran it without clothes at program for cotton(90C degrees)(as was written in instructions). While working it stopped and the timer stopped too. After pressing 'pause/run' button, it continued working. Then the stop repeated again.

Please, help me to know, what is the reason for such unexpected stop?

Have you consulted the instruction manual? Have you contacted technical support? – Tester101 Jan 22 '14 at 17:18
@Tester101, the manual didn't help. I called to the shop, where I bought the washing machine. They suggested disconnecting it from the socket and waiting for some time to restart program block. After it I tried to make a wash. It worked well. Maybe it solved my problem. But it needs more tests to be sure. – Alex Jan 22 '14 at 19:14
Many washers have a soak cycle--where it essentially pauses and does nothing to let the clothing just soak for a bit. Are you sure it wasn't in the soak cycle? – DA01 Jan 23 '14 at 5:02
Is it off balance? Some will stop if off balance to avoid damaging themselves. – Ethereal Jan 23 '14 at 13:37
@DA01, it paused like someone pushes pause-button. I don't think that it was a soak cycle. – Alex Jan 28 '14 at 17:40
