Was there a switch previously installed? Are any of the wires connected together? – Tester101 Nov 8 '13 at 18:07
Is this a NA 2-way (single pole single throw, one switch per light) or an EU 2-way (single pole double throw, two switches, either turns on light, called 3-way in NA)? – gregmac Nov 8 '13 at 20:21
Both switches should turn light on but if down stairs switch is on I can not switch off upstairs and vica versa – Arthur Jennings Nov 10 '13 at 13:57
It's unclear what your starting condition is, and what you are trying to change. Without that your question is not really answerable. – Bryce Nov 13 '13 at 7:52
