One of my gas stove burners is not releasing any gas when the knob is turned, it only attempts to ignite unsuccessfully. I was curious what the problem may be, e.g. whether some grease from may have dripped through the channel or perhaps a mouse died somewhere in the pipeline. All the other burners are working fine. The stove is barely 1 yr old, if that much.

Can't be too many things. Valve defective, orifice clogged, obstruction in mixing tube or burner. –  bcworkz Aug 31 '13 at 19:46
