I would like to install in an existing masonry fireplace, a decorative propane fire log unit.

I have seen the professional installation that used steel pipe outside the chimney going the straight X, Y, Z route near the tank with a short copper pipe to the tank. This steel pipe has rusted and does not look attractive.

For my chimney, the outside near the ground level is the ash clean out cover and directly above it (6 feet) is the interior ash cover in the fireplace near the back wall, so a straight steel pipe wouldn't go in with masonry damage work required.

Would a professional installer to use Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing for this installation in Washington State?
