I am having trouble getting my Kenmore Gas Dryer to run/stay running. The timer appears to be ticking away but the dryer won't start. For a while I could "fiddle" with the dial & get it to start running, but it would shut-off sometimes in the middle of the cycle. Now I can't get it to run at all...

Sounds like you need a new timer, but that's just an educated guess. – bcworkz Jun 22 '13 at 19:22
It could be some type of safety mechanism. Make sure the gas is on, the dryer and exhaust line are free of lint, the dryer is not overloaded with clothes, and that the drum spins freely. – Tester101 Jun 23 '13 at 12:18
