My combi-boiler keeps cutting out especially if the heating is off or you try to run the hot water.
I am not able to trace the problem but my landlady is saying that it is the wind from outside since it has an exhaust positioned in a windy trap outside. She mentioned that it would not be safe to cover the exhaust to shield it and the 'gas engineer' recently checked it and agreed with her since she came over with him.
Maybe they are just shrugging their shoulders at it. I suspect that there will be safe way to do this because I have never had such a problem and the boiler is cheap and pretty old too. So far the only thing I tried was tweaking the pressure which did not really help very noticeably. Does anyone with experience of these things have any suggestions for what I could do to keep it from happening (preferably without breaching my contract but all suggestions are welcome as they might approve it to be done), or at least reduce how often it happens.
