So I have a dripping tap (see picture), and I'd like it to be fixed. But I could not figure out how even to take it apart. I have tried turning various moving parts around, to no avail. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Can you provide the manufacturer/make/model faucet you have? The general procedure should be the same but if you want/need specifics it would be helpful to know more details. – Mike B Mar 15 at 22:54
For a high-level summary of the steps, here's a helpful video: thisoldhouse.com/toh/tv/ask-toh/video/0,,20640530,00.html (Skip to scene 4). Obviously the model faucet is different but it still has good info. – Mike B Mar 15 at 22:56
Thanks @MikeB I couldn't find any label on it...the video is quite helpful, if only I could find a way to take this thing apart. Also, thanks for adding my picture, I didn't have enough reputation to do that :-) – user12061 Mar 16 at 2:53
I googled "single handle faucet modern OR contemporary" and looked at images. This looks like it might be Ikea? There is a model Tarnan they have at ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40129633 where there is a manual. It doesn't have explicit instructions on pulling off the top handle, but if that is it, it looks like you need to raise the lever, and see if you can get to a setscrew exposed under it in the gap. If it is ikea, it sounds like a getting replacement cartridge might not be possible. – Tim B Mar 16 at 2:57

The construction type will be similar. The top handle has to come off. With the water off, raise the lever and see what you can under or behind it. Once it is off, disassembly will be straightforward, allowing for stuck threads of course. It will likely be repairable only if you can find a suitable repair cartridge. – Tim B Mar 16 at 3:08
