I have two TV wall plate sockets in my house. One has a 12V power supply for a masthead amp plugged in to it. If I switch that off, both sockets stop working. I measured the second socket with my meter and did not detect the presence of 12V so I assume the amp must have multiple output sockets.

I would like to move the power supply to the second socket. I tried it and both sockets produce a good signal if I do this, and I didn't see 12V on the first socket.

So is it ok to do this? Do these amps usually accept DC on any input and filter it from the others?
