Home Improvement Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for contractors and serious DIYers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I'm spending a great deal of my life working with computers, so I'd like to get more comfortable at least at home. Usual "computer" chairs are substandard to my comfort requirements, so I figured it would be really great to have one of those dentist chairs at home. But because they are medical equipment they are too much for my budget (also with many unneeded elements for furniture). What other chairs are as adjustable and much more affordable?

I think this is off topic, but the community-crowned "king" of computer task chairs is the Herman-Miller Aeron. hermanmiller.com/products/seating/work-chairs/aeron-chairs.html – Matthew PK Aug 27 '12 at 20:55

I'm sitting in a Herman Miller Equa 2 right now. It's loaded with features including variable tilt resistance, seat height adjustment, armrest height, width, and vertical axis rotation adjustments, and lumbar support adjustment. It's great - the only downside is the $1,167 price tag. – Doresoom Aug 27 '12 at 21:34
Thanks for your replies. Can anyone tell me if there is another stackexchange site that this question would fit in? Maybe it can be moved there. – user1306322 Aug 27 '12 at 23:04
