First time home owner - books to introduce different systems and things to know (Closing in another 2 weeks)

I am born and raised in India. Recently I bought a house in Miami. What kind of home improvement books/dvds you would recommend to me to get familiar with basic house hold work.

The house is in good condition. There is nothing to be fixed (yet). However I am just trying to get familiar with house work.

The Reader's Digest Do-It-Yourself Guide to Preventing Costly Home Repairs is one that seemed very straight-forward and well-rounded for a new homeowner.
